Default UnSolved - Driver for Key Board and mouse

I'm new to Both Linux & Mephis and have a home built system composed of a ASUS PK5 Deluxe MB,Intel Duo Core 2 E6850 4 MB L2 clock @ 3 GHz,FSB@1333 MHZ. and 4 geg of Kingston HyperX 8500 DD2 memory. Along with a sony dvd drive and a Toshiba cd ,iomega 100 meg zip drive .Two 500gb HD's one for xp and one for Mephis. Dul Boot. So far I have not been to find a driver for the iomega zip drive or the Sony dvd/ light scribe,(model DRU-835A) the HP Deskjet 5550 printer and a Dell wire less keyboard/ mouse the keyboard and mouse originally came with a Dell Dimension E521. I tried contacting Dell but they offered me no support, beside saying that the E521 would not support Linux. I tried tracing the first first 3 FCC ID letters but have ran in to and dead end their. They are JNZ if that helps any one in IDing the MFG. Does any one have any suggestion as where to look for the drivers I need ?
A big thanks in advance for your help in finding any of all for them

I may be wrong, but I have never heard of keyboard or mouse drivers being needed in any linux. Usually that is handled through the xwindows configuration or some other configuration option.

My wife has an older Dell Dimension C4700 that came with a USB wireless keyboard and mouse. To use these in Mepis did not require drivers. I did have to add a grub command "usb-handoff" to make it play nice with the usb controller. But other than that, the basic xwindows keyboard configurations worked fine with both devices.

There are a LOT of posts in here about mapping special keys or multimedia keys, and to be honest, I am not sure what is involved with that, since I have never tried it. Is that why you are looking for drivers?

Here are few things from the wiki for you to check out:
