Dell 521 PC with an ATI x1300 card
I had flgrx drivers installed and ran the upgrade on my RC1 install of Mepis 7. The 3d test now fails in cedega (Penguin racer shows problems due, I presume, 3d issues). I've tried the same workaround as for the 8.40 version of the ATI drivers but no joy so far. Last edited by jafo42 : 12-07-2007 at 12:32 PM. Reason: I can't type for toffee |

install the fglrx control center.
Just search for fglrx in synaptic, and it's the first item that comes up. start it up, and it will tell you which 3D driver is currently being used. You might need to run dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg and force the fglrx driver to load. Sounds like it defaulted back to the Mesa OGL plugin. *** Also, Warren never released the 8.42 drivers for Mepis. He went from 8.40 to 8.43. If you installed the 8.42 drivers on your own, you will need to purge the existing fglrx install before you can run the Mepis Install.
