Default wlassistant Mepis 7.0 beta 5

The wlassistant in the etch repos won't install because of the failed dependency kdelibs-bin. But the kdelibs-bin functionality is provided by the package kdelibs4c2a in Mepis 7.0 so wlassistant works if you force the install. The problem is only in the dependency list in the .deb control file.
To avoid the broken package mess, I unpacked the .deb file, modified the control file and repacked it. It will now install correctly.

Here it is: wlassistant_0.5.5-1_i386.deb

And for the 64 bit users: wlassistant_0.5.5-1_amd64.deb
Attached Files
File Type: deb wlassistant_0.5.5-1_i386.deb (146.3 KB, 67 views)
File Type: deb wlassistant_0.5.5-1_amd64.deb (150.3 KB, 12 views)

Default Haven't tried it yet...

But this is the wireless snooper I favor. I was disappointed not to be able to continue using it on my lappy...
Now I can! Thanks!

@Tim,

I've never needed wlassistant, and I may never need it in the future, but I just wanted to say that I really appreciate people like you who take the time to fix things and then share them with the rest of us!

Tim,
That little program helped get me going today, thanks. I had wireless working once on Beta 5, then couldn't connect again. wlassistant made it a breeze to connect again. Maybe Warren can put that in the Mepis repos?

Work is going on now to develop a community repository, and this will definitely be added when it is ready.

Similar to what I did with Kuickshow for GreyGeek. Thanks, Tim.

With your permission, you will find these files at:

On another note, I would appreciate it if you you would drop me an email this week. Relevant to the community repo idea, there are some things I'd like to run past you, if you don't mind.

Probably not, but 0.5.5 is in the repos for M 6.5.

Any possibility of somebody's creating a deb package for M7 from the latest release 0.5.7?
