I have finally managed to figure out how to get xrandr working to display a 1280x1024 resolution on my external 18" monitor. Yay!
Ah, actually no. :( The actual workable desktop* fills all of the screen except for a 1 inch section at the bottom. I can see my display manager's background in this gap so I am thinking that the virtual screen resolution is correct. I have trolled the forums and spent hours figuring out Xrandr with no joy. Can someone help me understand why the usable desktop is not filling my display and how I can resolve this? I am using: Mepis 8 Acer Aspire One Intel 945 GME graphics. Eizo 18" monitor (l675) xserver-xorg-video-intel version 2:2.3.2-2+lenny6 xorg version 1:7.3+18 Thanks guys, much appreciated Andy, Bristol, England. * i.e. where my mouse will go. |
