Wireshark locks up when trying to select an interface and has to be killed.
I finally figured out how to "force version" in Synaptic. Wireshark now works. Last edited by DBeckett : 03-04-2010 at 03:21 PM. Reason: Solved |

This is a system that I installed RC1 on last night. It prints through the network to a printer connected to a system running XP. When I set it up, all was well, and I used it to print earlier today.
Now when I print, I get nothing. If I try to print a test page from the localhost:631, I get this error: Unsupported format 'application/postscript'! Googling this suggests editing /etc/cups/mime.convs, but I see nothing there out of the ordinary - the file is identical to a copy from another Mepis system running beta 4 and not recently upgraded. The system was aptitude safe-upgraded twice today - I suspect that whatever was installed (didn't pay much attention) caused the problem. The second safe-upgrade brought in a bunch of new cups stuff, but did not fix the problem, even after a reboot. This system is my most mission-critical. I can print by copying files to the XP machine, but that a pain. Any ideas? |

I'm getting the same thing as irvcobb. Nothing happens when I try to print something.
Then if I try to print a test page from localhost:631, I get this: Unsupported format 'application/postscript'! I can now verify that print works on a virgin RC1 install. After updates it no longer works. With a fresh install of RC2, and then allowing any/all updates, print now works. Last edited by DBeckett : 03-04-2010 at 03:18 PM. Reason: update |

Depends on what you need or want. There are settings to place the icons created at the lower edge, left to right and there is a right to left setting. You do then have to move the icon to where you want it permanently somewhere else. And locking and unlocking will be necessary.
