Solved - kpowersave Mepis 8 - try this
Sorry guys - the deb does work - my instructions should have been better. ML also hiccups sometimes with downloads, so in case you have problems downloading from ML - the deb is also here on Rapidshare.
**And I know R-Share can be slow, but it's reliable and it's only a ~3mb download m'kay **
Right - after you've downloaded the deb - do following:
- Right click kpowersave applet in tray and choose quit. Make sure it closes.
- Open synaptic, search for and completely remove kpowersave. You need to do this to clear the old config files.
- Close synaptic.
- Install new kpowersave with kpackage. Close Kpackage
- <alt>+F2 to open a run dialogue, type kpowersave and click run.
With any luck, the applet should be in your tray and you should now have full control again
Again - please advise if you get success.
