If you installed a beta or release candidate (RC) version of MEPIS instead of an official release, then ask your questions in this forum. The other forums under this category are for official releases only. Beta and RC versions are known to have bugs and a lot of the times, the problems you have, are related to a bug. To report bugs you find in beta and rc versions, email the MEPIS developer instead, or support@mepis.org.

Help and information about AntiX

Here you can post threads/topics about programs like vmware, parallels, qemu, virtualbox, dosbox and all the other virtual machines/emulators that exist. This includes how to setup, suggestions on what works well with MEPIS and what doesn't, etc.

If you are having a problem with getting any of your computer's hardware to work with MEPIS or you can't find the right driver, this is the forum to use. It's for newbies and regular users to post questions. Just make sure to post what hardware you are having problems with, in the subject and not just in the post's text area, please.

Problems with your sound card are to be posted here, as well as tutorials to share with others.

You can ask for help with video cards, tv cards, dvb, monitors, webcams, digital cameras and software related to these devices, here. Tutorials about these devices can be posted here, too.

Questions about printers and scanners, hardware-related and/or software-related can be asked here, as well as posting of tutorials.

Questions about Networking that deals with wireless cards, ethernet, modems, samba and anything else related to these, including software help. Tutorials for any of these can be posted too. Remember to provide relevant info in your posts, such as the following information: Version of Mepis being used Card Manufacturer (i.e. Linksys) Card Model (i.e. WMP54G) Type: (PCI or PCMCIA) Current Kernel in use on their system (i.e. 2.6.10) Udev or Hotplug Exact steps taken to get the card working if it is not immediately recognized by MEPIS.

Here users can ask questions about security and tutorials about security can be posted to help others, too.

Here you can ask questions about how to set up servers in MEPIS and ask about software and hardware related to it. You can post tutorials relating to this, also.

Here people can ask questions concerning how to install or configure games. Anything related to games in MEPIS or linux can be asked here. Also tutorials about this can be posted here.

Just as the name says, here is where you can post tips and tricks to share with other users of MEPIS.

Here you can exchange scripts that you created or have permission to share with other users.

Those who have created deb or tar packages to share with other MEPIS users can create a thread in this forum to do that. Also those that request someone to create a package for them, can be posted here.

Topics that are outdated are moved to this forum. That is so that people don't post questions under a very old topic instead of creating a new one.
